Family Discipleship

The largest impact on the faith development of a young adult is actually their family of origin. In the 1970s churches developed youth ministry as a way to help parents disciple their kids. Unfortunately, an unintended consequence of this shift was that parents got accustomed to the church teaching their kids instead of them. The result has been that, unfortunately, the next generations have not embraced their parent’s faith. We wholeheartedly support youth ministries and young life, but we also recognize the vital role that parents still play in faith development. Legacy has developed some programs to help parents not only role model being nice people to their kids, but also equip them to talk with their kids about the Christian faith.

Legacy Dads Gatherings

We have our first Legacy Dads night on October 10th at Mike Conan’s house in Gig Harbor, WA. This night will be a time for Dads and Sons to connect as we have some fun and talk about the two things that drive all men.

Podcasts

Legacy created the Teen Nugget Podcast as a vehicle for parents to engage with their teens about life and faith. Each Podcast centers on a topic that can be followed up with a discussion between parents and their teens. You can find study guides posted for the Teen Nuggets as well.
