Why did I join Legacy Leadership?

As most of you know I spent four years studying church revitalization ministry for my doctorate. I became convinced that the best way for churches to be renewed was by learning how to reach and disciple men. Especially men with families. Statistics show that many men are adrift and when they get re-centered on Christ, it has a drastic impact on their families, churches, and communities.  After looking through a lot of data, I became convinced that a ministry that could embolden, train and encourage men to reach other men would change the world more than anything else.  When my last pastoral call ended two years ago, I prayed and believed the Lord was calling us to move back “home.” I want to see this area renewed for Christ. When I met with Bill and realized he was starting a ministry that I, myself, was considering starting, it seemed like a natural fit and calling for us to partner. And I will be officially joining him on the Legacy staff on January 1.

What will I do at Legacy Leadership?

Four Key Things:

1) Prayer Support - I will organize the Prayer Support team and try to recruit as many prayer partners as possible and work with Bill to send out a weekly prayer request. We hope to have 200 supporters by early 2021.

2) Disciple-making Support – Disciple-making is difficult, there is a reason that most people feel called to do it, but few do it. I will be working with Bill to recruit Legacy Leaders and provide vision, training and tools, and encouragement to all of them.

3) Church Support – Since I was in pastoral ministry for 20 years and have a deep love for the church and want to see church renewal, I will be supporting Puget Sound area churches by meeting with pastors and developing a discipleship training and support program we could help them implement and oversee.

4) Family Legacy Support – During my research on men, I discovered that the number one impact on a man’s life is his relationship with his father. Most dads today struggle to know how to teach their faith to their kids. I will be developing a father/son discipleship program in 2020 that will include podcasts and retreats.

What Can you do to Support me and Legacy Leadership?

Join the Prayer Support team.

You will receive a weekly email from us and we ask that you take two minutes a week to pray for us and God’s work in the greater Puget Sound region through Legacy Leadership.

One-Time Gift - Make a one-time tax-deductible gift to Legacy Leadership. I would deeply appreciate this as it will allow me to get started in ministry. Someone has generously offered to do a matching gift of up to $10,000 to help me get going.

Become a Monthly Supporter – I am hoping to do this for my full-time job. There is certainly a lot of ministry opportunity. The more monthly support I have, the more I am free to serve in the ministry.

Become a Legacy Leader –Maybe you recognize God’s call on your life to make disciples and realize that you need the encouragement, training, and tools to make that happen. *All of these can be done by simply clicking on Prayer Partner or donate button. You can also support via check as well, please contact me for more details or send it to Legacy Leadership, P.O. Box 7324, Tacoma, WA 98417

Mike, I thought you were doing real estate now, why do you need financial support?

I am still doing real estate and we also started a small RV rental business to help pay my salary at Legacy Leadership. Though I have really enjoyed real estate and plan to keep helping a few families a year buy and sell homes, I would rather dedicate my time and energy towards the building up of the ministry of Legacy.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this ministry!
